Cystoblastosis is a recent 3 peice Mince/Gore band from St Petersberg. This short demo is comprised of stomping Mince tempo punk blasts, with rattling, strangling Bass, echo-ish rehearsal room Drums and necrotic, rasping pitch shifted Vocal. It’s crusted over, reeking and disgusting, with lots of troglodyte grooves, blasting parts and little subtlety, poorly and loudly recorded. The recording quality well accentuates Cystoblastosis’ plodding stampede of weird internet Mincecore. Gory, putrid, Punk as fuck, low rent, lo-fi, lovely. Check it out.
Goregrind from Russia/Holland and Chile. Butcher M.D. specialises in the kind of medically accurate, tumor dissecting pathological Goregrind that Nx5 kicks out on an endless basis. Tight, clipped, blood thinning drum programming, surreally precise slabs of Gore Guitars, and exhaustive vomitous gurgle Vocal from none other than Dr. Erwin de Groot. The songs casually move from D Beatish Punk sctions to all out blasting effortlessly and satisfyingly. Totally fucking excellent and altogether too short. Check out their full length here and pay something to download it. GBA play a similar brand of Ghoulish Goregrind, with a touch less precision and more slop. If Butcher M.D. is the cruel, cold surgeon, GBA is the deranged necrophile mutilating corpses in the morgue. More Gorenoise-ish gore tornado parts, maniac riffing with super cold ping Snare blast beats, obligatory wounded animal shifted Vocal. Gross shit! A pairing of similarly excellent current Gore projects. Buy a copy from Twisted Truth Records, poser!
Terminator 666 is a Mincecore band from Russia, with the worst band name of all time. So bad in fact that I might be coming round to it. That being said, this demo consists of 13 lo-fi cruddy Minces, with fuzzy grinding Bass, burly grunt vocal and zero subtlety . The production is surprisingly clear for this kind of stuff, being way more on the Punk side of things. The Guitars have a strange thinness to them, but that only adds to the Dimestore vibe, and the tempo is generally mid paced Mince, with some blast beats here and there. Pummeling, stupid and addictive, and recommended!
Newest split from Canadian Mincegore hoser Andy aka Hyperemesis, sharing tape with Russian Mince/Grind band Sram, to be released by Twisted Truth Records. The Hyperemesis tracks are very similar production wise to their side of the G.O.D. split, probably having been taken from the same recording session. Vile walls of putrid, crusty Guitar and insane snare-ringin’ blast beat/D beat/Polka Mince attack slathered in maniac gory low low squawk vocal. Predictably rancid, gross and gnarly. Enemy Soil and Warsore are both covered to perfection also. The Sram side of the tape is more in the vein of classic Mincecore ala Blood Suckers or Agathocles, with less Goregrind influence, to my ear at least. The production is very full, fat and stompy sounding, the songs are rammed with three chord Punk parts, D beats and of course plenty of Mincing, and the vocal is classic Grindcore style low growl/high shriek trade-off. Unfortunately the Sram tracks are stream-only, but have a listen and I’m sure you’ll want to grab a tape! A really short split, but a ridiculously enjoyable one nonetheless.
Never before have I felt so stupid ignoring a record because of the terrible album artwork. Don’t get me wrong, the art for Russian two piece Inopexia’s ‘Myocardical Biopsy Had a Lethal Outcome’ is as rubbish as they come; highlighting the infantile fecal obsession of many of the Goregrind underground’s artists past and present. Rubbish enough that I ignored this record for a very long time, despite a glowing review from the always reliable Free To Grind blog, in which Evan actually highlighted the bad artwork. But I was so, so wrong to ignore this record. This is one of the most punishing, gnarly and downright disgusting Goregrind records I’ve come across in recent years. The Drums are basically the most accurate LDOH worship ever. There is a literal ton of blast beats on these songs, with the most ringy ringin’ Snare you could want, but there’s also lots of quick fast tempo changes, and technically there’s some seriously impressive patterns in the lightning fast fills and Punked out Thrash parts. The Guitars are thick and putrid, noxious and crushing, with a fair amount of hooks and groove for a record so noisy. And the vocal is some of the most foetid, vomiting roaring puke this side of Gorenoise. The best thing about the vocal is that he manages to sound actually pissed of and raging, something many Gore Gurglers lack. This record basically walks a very thin line between older, groovier Goregrind, out and out Gorenoise wall and Crusty Grindcore, with a sense of dynamics often lacking from such sounds. Completely essential.
Sarcoidorrhoea is a Gorenoise project from Russia, about whom I can’t find a lot of information. This stuff is awash with ringing snare, Noise ‘Guitars’ underpinned by frantic blast beats, D beats and watery, drowned super low vocal. Gross, pulverizing and torrential. The production is strangely clear for this type of slop, the beats are very crisp and the drum patterns make the whole thing punchy and brutal; sound wise this stuff most reminds me of the awesome Active Stenosis. The ‘Guitar'(?) sounds here sound like sewage, very noisy with no discernible riffs as you’d expect from Gorenoise. For fans of Urine Festival, Anal Birth, Last Days Of Humanity, and Active Stenosis/Menometrorrhagia.
