One of my favourite post 90’s Deche-Charge releases, plucked from the enormous vault on their blogspot page. If for some reason you are unfamiliar with Deche-Charge, I don’t know what you’re doing here, go do your homework son. Their portion of this split is a collection of classic bursts of totally riotous Noisecore, grunted vocal, blast beats and Guitar/Bass Noise. Furious, random, silly and yet devastating, as can be expected of Deche-Charge. CSMD peddle a bizarre and joyous mix of Noisecore terror, Space Rock Opera pomp and monster-movie grue and glitter. Moody, weird Synths, lots of samples, insane reverse-scooped Guitar/Bass Noise garbage, endless exhausting blast beats and super low vocal howl, all extremely strange, dense and a bit unsettling. Their interpretation of the classic Godzilla theme by Akira Ifukube is a real highlight. Last up, Intumescence play a blend of old school Death/Doom and Goregrind, with lots of mid tempos as well as blast beats, tape recorded Guitar/Bass and super creepy pitch shifted vocal croak and groan. They sound very unique, like a mix between Winter and Plasma, and their spooky, creepy-crawly Gore works really well against D.C.’s and CSMD’s more noisy blasting. Weird, pissed and recommended.
